Valeria's String Studio

Welcome! My name is Valeria Chatterton, and I am a violin and viola teacher in the Tampa Bay Area, serving Hillsborough and Pasco counties. 

I have over 15 years of experience teaching strings in group and private settings. 

I believe that music education is a fundamental part of human development.  Whether introduced at an early age, school age, or in adulthood, learning a musical instrument promotes the development of gross and fine motor skills, sensitivity, resilience, discipline, creativity, and social skills (to name a few!).  I teach students of all different backgrounds and skill levels (beginner to advanced), as well as students with special needs.

My teaching strategies are versatile and tailored to address each student's specific needs and interests.  I combine traditional and non-traditional methods and approaches, including Suzuki Method, Paul Rolland's strategies, and Barbara Barber's books.
